Nadasurabhi Cultural Association located in Koramangala, Bangalore is in the forefront of promoting Classical Carnatic Music. Nadasurabhi conducts the highest quality music concerts every month and a week-long Annual Festival in November, free of charge to all rasikas. Our other events include a youth festival, Thyagaraja and Purandaradasa Aradhana, and music competitions for children.
Nadasurabhi, in the year 2007 decided to institute an Award- Sangeetha Surabhi. The award is given to leading musicians for their immense lifetime contribution to the field of Carnatic Music. The award is given away during a special function held in conjunction with the Annual Music Festival held every November. With great respect the awardee is honoured with a Shawl, a Citation and a Purse. Following are the details of the awardees.

A very senior artist who has enriched the Carnatic music field for over five decades Vidwan Trichur V Ramachandran was the recipient of the award and title of Sangeetha Surabhi for the year 2018. The award was presented on 4th November 2018, in a majestic function in the presence of several senior musicians, students, admirers of Sri.TVR and music lovers. General Secretary of Nadasurabhi in her citation pointed out the contribution of Sri. TVR to classical music and the unique style of rendering kritis based on the tradition of his illustrious guru Sri. G.N.Balasubramanian. The chief guest for the occasion, Vidushi Neela Ramgopal, in her speech emphasised the ease and flow of Sri. TVR's music and that he is a true torch bearer of the GNB baani. In his crisp acceptance speech Sri.Ramachandran conveyed his gratitude to his gurus and other mentors and dedicated the award to their blessing. The award ceremony was followed by a scintillating music concert by Sri.TVR which was a balanced presentation in all aspects of our great music form.

One of the greatest carnatic musicians of all time, Sri.T.V.Sankaranarayanan was the recipient of the award and title of Sangeetha Surabhi for the year 2017. The award was presented on 5th November 2017, in a colourful ceremony in the presence of several senior musicians, students, admirers of Sri.TVS and music lovers. General Secretary of Nadasurabhi in her citation pointed out the contribution of Sri. TVS to classical music and the unique style of rendering kritis based on the tradition of his illustrious uncle Sri. Madurai Mani Iyer. The chief guest for the occasion, Vidwan Sri. Shankar, in his speech emphasised the mastery of Sri. Sankaranarayanan in this field. In his acceptance speech Sri. Sankaranarayanan mentioned how this award from Nadasurabhi is special to him. He also gave an emotional sketch of his parents contribution in his growth and dedicated the award to them. The award ceremony was followed by a chaste classical music concert by Sri.TVS and his team.

Legendary carnatic musician Dr.T.V.Gopalakrishnan was the recipient of the award and title of Sangeetha Surabhi for the year 2016. The award was presented on 6th November 2016, in a colourful ceremony in the presence of several senior musicians, students, admirers of Dr.TVG and music lovers. General Secretary of nadasurabhi in her citation pointed out the breadth and depth of Dr.TVG's contribution to music as a mridangam maestro, vocalist, composer, guru and a specialist in the various genres of music , Carnatic, Hindustani, western, jazz, etc., Prof. Mysore V Subramanya in his felicitation speech, narrated the immense contribution of Sri.TVG for over six decades to the field of carnatic music. In his acceptance speech Dr.Gopalakrishnan ran through the initial years of his career and how, by his single minded devotion to music, he conquered these early obstacles and established himself as one of the greatest carnatic musicians. He also paid glowing tributes to his guru Sri.Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar. The award ceremony was followed by a chaste classical music concert by Dr.TVG and his team.
