Description

This is just the second year for Nadasurabhi  to conduct a  carnatic music competition for children. The details of the event were announced well in advance. It is for children aged between 8 and 15 years. The response was so overwhelming with more than 60 registrations, that the event was split into two halves Senior and Junior batches, based on age. Two sets of independent judges evaluated the performances. The seed idea about the competition was from Sri.Vishweswara, a long time associate of the organization and a keen music lover. Sri.Visweswara also came forward to sponsor not only the three trophies for each batch of winners, but also more than a dozen additional consolation prizes. This was done in memory of his wife Smt.Shaila Visweswara. Besides these, Nadasurabhi also gave gift vouchers for Rs.750, 500 and 250 respectively for the three top winners in each of the batches. Also, all participants were given special participation certificates, with their names printed, a small individual gift and Nadasurabhi Annual Souvenir.
