The 87th birth anniversary of legendary violin maestro Sangeetha Surabhi Sri. Lalgudi G Jayaraman on the day of this concert (17.9.2017) is being celebrated all over the world. Nadasurabhi dedicates this month’s concert to this immortal Carnatic genius who was a performer, guru and a great composer. Sri.Saketharaman is one of the most prominent disciples of Sri Lalgudi Jayaraman. We are proud to present his concert on this important occasion.
Sri. Saketharaman’s voice is sweet and most pleasing to the ear, exactly on the lines of the sweet tonal quality of the violin of his illustrious guru. He has performed on many prestigious stages all over the world. He has won several notable awards including the Best Vocalist award from the Music Academy, Chennai, three years in a row.
Kum. Apoorva Krishna, a young upcoming vidushi, is also from the Lalgudi school learning from Smt. Lalgudi Srimathi Brahmanandam and her daughter Smt. Anuradha Sridhar. Sri. Sudhindra is a senior mridangam vidwan who is a busy performing artist and guru. He has trained many youngsters who are themselves successful stage performers of mridangam and vocal music. Sri.Omkar , a founder member of Nadasurabhi has received great acclaim from all senior artists for his performances on ghatam.
